FAQ's
-
My child placed 1st in their heat, why did they not get 1st on the results sheet?
- The results sheet combines all events and orders the swimmers based on time compared to all swimmers in that heat.
-
My child got a DQ, why?
- Typically, the reason is listed but sometimes it is not (it depends on how it was entered into the system). Remember that these skills are very technical and difficult to master. DQs are a normal part of the process.
-
How can my child not DQ?
- Practice makes perfect. Remember that different skills are taught each day of practice, so missing days means they may be missing crucial instruction.
-
What is the difference in a Heat Ribbon and a Carded Ribbon?
- Carded Ribbons are official meet ribbons and heat ribbons are meant to encourage our 10 and under swimmers by rewarding finishing 1-3 in each heat.
-
What do the points mean?
- Swimming is an individual and team sport. In each meet, swimmers will earn points towards their team's total. After the meet, points are tallied, and a team is declared the "winner".
